He particularly emphasized the importance of the Faculty, which is recognized for its specific and unique contribution in various areas: mitigation of energy crisis, prevention of natural disasters (fires, floods, drying and dying of forests, erosion and degradation of land and water, reduction of the distribution of woody species, calamities of harmful insects, etc.), reducing the negative effects of climate change in the forests, the soil.

In the part discussed the most important events of the previous year that marked the work and functioning of the faculty, the Dean pointed out that, in his opinion, for the work of the Faculty the previous year was the most complicated and difficult in the long history of the Faculty, but also probably the entire University, and the reason for this was the blockade of teaching and the Faculty by students, caused by the deaths of 16 people in Novi Sad. He emphasized that the whole process and all developments related to the blockade of teaching and the Faculty will describe one in one way, and the other in another way, that the third reasons will be sought on one side, and the fourth on the other, but what needs to be especially apostrophicized is: the consequences for the university, education and the state are indisputably left! … He pointed out that we all together still have to be proud that, despite all the difficulties, we have completed the school year in a satisfactory way, but also aware of the conditions and circumstances in which we worked the previous year, we must all draw lessons for the purpose of creating much better conditions for the future of our University and our Serbia.

To our current and future students, the Dean said that although this may seem different to them, they should be proud of the fact that within their schooling they will deal with this or otherwise said these four noble, wonderful and extremely important professions for the entire society. He wished all employees of the Faculty to be peaceful for their 106th year of existence to be peaceful and boring and ordinary school year for their work, and asked teachers for more dedicated work in teaching, more energy and time invested in scientific research, in the improvement of the functioning of all segments of the Faculty, but also mutual respect and academic behavior, readiness for the conversation.
