Aleksandar Popović

Aleksandar Popović was born on April 23, 1993 in Prijepolje. Undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, Department of Forestry, enrolled in the school year 2012/2013. Studies completed the school year 2015/2016 as a student of the generation by defending the graduate thesis entitled “Characteristics of thick growth of malt and cera in Lipovica”. Master of academic studies at the Faculty of Forestry, module Forest Management Planning, completed the school year 2016/2017 by defending the master’s thesis entitled “Adaptive planning of forest management in conditions of pronounced risk in the most represented types of forests on Zlatar”. He enrolled in doctoral studies in the 2017/2018 school year at the Department of Forest Management Planning. The studies ended on September 26, 2023, defending their doctoral dissertation entitled “Ecological, structural and production characteristics of Pančić’s spruce, molk and munica from the aspect of protection and preservation of their habitats”.

Engaged by the Faculty of Forestry in 2017 as an expert associate in accordance with the activities on the projects of drafting planning documents. From the parties of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, in 2018 engaged in performing tasks related to participation in the development of harmonigrams and a comparative review of the matching of the provisions of the articles of regulations with primary and secondary sources of EU law, for the needs of the Forest Administration. By the decision of the Faculty of Forestry of May 31, 2018, elected to the title of Research Trainee. Since June 1, 2018, employed at the Faculty of Forestry under an employment contract. By the decision of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of March 29, 2024, elected to the title of Research Associate in the field of Biotechnical Sciences.

Starting from the 2019/2020 school year, he has been participating in the preparation and implementation of a part of the exercises in the subject of Forest Management Planning. He speaks English and Russian. Trained to use and work on the following computer programs: ArcGIS, QGIS, SPSS, Statgraphics, R, (RStudio, tidyverse), Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access. Winner of the “Dositeja” Youth Talents Fund for 2016 and 2017.
