Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Dedic was born in Belgrade, where he completed primary and secondary school, as a winner of the “Vuk Stefanović Karadžić” award. He enrolled at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 1986, and graduated on 5.7.1991. as the first in his generation and with an award for outstanding success in the final year of studies and an average of 9.4. He graduated in the field of automatic control. He completed his master’s studies at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the period 1992 – 1995. He defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Modeling of the coupled process of heat and matter transfer during convective drying of wood” in 2001.

He started his employment at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade on 01.03.1992. In January 2018, he was elected to the rank of full professor. As a DAAD scholarship holder, he was doing research work (2000–2001) at the Technical University – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Dresden, Germany.

He has passed the professional exam for design in mechanical engineering, and several projects and studies for the needs of business and industry. Since 2009, he has been a technical assessor of the Accreditation Body of Serbia, and has received letters of appreciation and recognition for his work. He is a member of SMEITS and the Serbian Process Engineering Society, in which he was also a member of the Board of Directors. Member of the DAAD Alumni Association, and was on the first Supervisory Board since the association was founded.

Prof. Aleksandar Dedic has over 135 scientific and professional papers published in international and domestic journals and conferences, of which 17 papers published in 12 different international journals from the SCI list and 77 papers at international conferences, including participation in the COST and ERASMUS programs. Papers from the SCI list have been cited 228 times, h-index is 8 and i10-index is 5 (source Google Scholar). Reviewer of more than 10 international journals and two university textbooks, also reviewed international projects within the HORIZON 2020 initiative, as well as evaluations for doctoral scholarships at the Marie Skodowolska Curie Foundation. He has been a member of the scientific and professional and program committees of international conferences on several occasions: Processing, Synterm, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources, where he also presented several papers by invitation. He was a participant in 11 scientific research projects, and a co-leader in one. He is a co-author of two technical solutions and the author of a patent. He is the author of two university textbooks and co-author of two auxiliary university textbooks. He is a co-author of two monographs and chapters in a monograph. He was a mentor and a member of the defense committees for several: final, master and magistracy theses, as well as doctoral dissertations.
