Born in Belgrade to father Radoš and mother Zlata Ocokoljić. Primary education and the 3rd Belgrade Grammar School (Natural sciences and technical track, specialising in Spatial planning) completed with excellent results. Graduated from the Faculty of Forestry, Department of Landscape Architecture, with an average grade of 9.36 (nine point thirty-six), and a final thesis defended with a grade of 10 (ten), as Student of the Generation. All courses prescribed by the Statute of the Faculty of Forestry for postgraduate studies passed with an average grade of 10 (ten). The Master’s thesis entitled “Research into the Individual Variability of Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L.) in Urban Coenoses in the Area of Belgrade and Its Surroundings” was defended on 26 December 2000 at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade. The doctoral dissertation entitled “The Oldest Trees in the Green Areas of Belgrade as Initial Material for the Production of Ornamental Tree Seedlings” was defended on 21 June 2006 at the same faculty. Recipient of the Annual Award of the Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade for the best doctoral dissertation in 2007. Continuously employed at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Forestry, within the Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, since March 1996. Also engaged in teaching at the University of Novi Sad (Faculty of Agriculture), delivering the course Dendrology within the study programmes Horticulture and Fruit Growing and Viticulture. Participation in teaching and examination activities at the University of Bihać – Faculty of Biotechnical Sciences (course: Dendrology), as well as at doctoral academic studies at the Faculty of Agriculture in Banja Luka (Republic of Srpska). Recipient of the Golden Charter for contribution to the development and advancement of biological and related sciences, awarded by the Serbian Biological Society. Member of the Serbian Biological Society, the Biological Society “Dr Sava Petrović”, and the Association of Landscape Architects of Serbia. Proficient in English and Russian.
