Forestry and nature protection

Mission

We are constantly perfecting teaching at all three levels of study (undergraduate, master and doctoral studies) by applying modern methods and practical solutions of biological, technical, organizational and economic teaching disciplines of forestry, ecology and environmental protection. The results of scientific research are presented in scientific journals and conferences both in the country and abroad.

Vision

The Department of Forestry is committed to constant strengthening of its reputation and preserving the tradition of the Faculty of Forestry, as the oldest and the highest institution of its kind in the country.

Objectives

The aim of this study program is to provide students with the theoretical and practical training and knowledge, ability and skills for individual and team work required for engineering jobs in the field of forestry in public companies (Srbijašume and Vojvodinašume), scientific and research organizations (institutes) national parks, the Nature conservation institute, inspection services and educational institutions (faculties, high-schools and primary schools).

Strategy

The main strategic task of the Department of Forestry is educating students for forestry as an economic branch in the aim of development of the society abiding by the principle of nature conservation. Forest Strategy of Serbia is to increase the forest area from current 29.1% to 41% in order to achieve economic development and a healthier environment. The Development Strategy of the Department of Forestry in education and science in the coming period is reflected in the following: development of study programs of undergraduate, master and doctoral studies; cooperation with forestry faculties and institutes from abroad, permanent training of teachers and presentation of the result
