Forum Outline:

Climate change imposes new challenges on the management and conservation of forest ecosystems, calling for innovative, interdisciplinary, and practice-oriented approaches.
Modern forestry connects tradition with new knowledge and technologies, from sustainable forest management and the protection of soil and water resources, to the development of renewable materials and the creation of green spaces that improve quality of life.
Bringing together experiences and practices from Serbia and China, the Forestry Forum provides a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas among students, teachers, researchers, and professionals from various sectors related to forestry.
By fostering dialogue between academia, the economic sector, and industry, the Forum aims to strengthen cooperation, encourage innovation, and promote the development of green technologies and sustainable business models. This Forum offers an opportunity for all participants to connect, share experiences, and build partnerships for a more sustainable future.

Bojčinska Forest, located in the municipality of Surčin near Belgrade, is a protected wetland forest within the Obedska Bara region. Spanning 629.51 hectares, it lies in the lowlands of southeastern Srem, between the Sava River and the Jarčina Canal. Since 1965, it has been recognized as both a natural monument and a cultural property of great significance.

Historically, it served as a refuge during both World Wars and was the starting point of a partisan uprising in 1941.

A total of 185 plant species have been recorded, 15 of which have protected or strictly protected status. The forest is home to 165 species of fungi, 15 of which are protected, while two are listed on the European Red List of Fungi. Besides oak, the forest is rich in hornbeam and linden, with the presence of poplar, dogwood, elderberry, and wild rose. In some parts, wild garlic grows in abundance, while spring brings numerous wild strawberries. In the swampy areas irises are found, and nettles are widespread as well.

The forest hosts 108 bird species—around 30% of all bird species recorded in Serbia. It is also home to 10 species of amphibians and reptiles, 8 of which are legally protected. Among the wild animals roaming the forest are hares and roe deer. Domestic pigs are also kept in the forest, while wild boars feed on acorns. The area supports a large number of insects, most notably mosquitoes, horseflies, and hornets.

Within Bojčinska Forest, there is also a farm of Mangulica pigs and a horse stable where visitors can enjoy horseback riding.
